The FAMHP online medicinal products database contains information on all medicinal products for human and veterinary use authorised in Belgium. Some new functions have been added in this new version. This makes it easier to search for new medicinal products or active ingredients.
The online medicinal product database
The FAMHP wants to make all relevant information about medicinal products available in a simple way. Therefore, on www.medicinesdatabase.be you will find all medicinal products for both human and veterinary use that have a marketing authorisation, registration, authorisation for parallel import or temporary authorisation for use in Belgium. The medicinal product database is updated every day. You can search for medicinal products based on one or more characteristics and download your search results.
Available information
For each medicinal product, a lot of relevant information is available:
- the package leaflet,
- the SPC (summary of product characteristics),
- various data such as the date when the medicine was authorised, CNK code, method of administration, pack size, etc.,
- market status (commercialised, unavailable, etc.),
- If applicable: RMA material (Risk Minimisation Activities),
- if applicable: DHPC (Direct Healthcare Professional Communication).
New in this version
You can now also search specifically for all new authorised medicinal products, all new active ingredients, medicinal products for which the dispensing method has changed or medicinal products for which documents have been added or modified.
Next to the authorised medicinal products, medicinal products for which the authorisation has been suspended or cancelled were included in a separate category. For medicinal products whose authorisation has been cancelled, the documents can still be consulted for one year.
