Falsified medicines are a growing health risk. Seizures of illegal medicines are growing year on year. Studies by the World Health Organisation suggest that 50 % of the medicine sold by unregulated online retailers is unreliable and potentially harmful: find out more about the health risks of falsified medicines.

We know that buying medicine online can be convenient, but it is important to be sure that you're buying safe, effective products. That's why the European Union has decided to act. Now, when you buy medicine from an online pharmacy, be sure to look for the online logo tool.

What Does the Logo Mean?

If the online pharmacy or retailer that you're buying from displays the logo then it's easy to check whether it is trustworthy. Simply click on the logo and you'll be sent to the website of the national regulatorof the country where the pharmacy is established. The logo displays the flag of that country. Here, you'll be able to check whether your online retailer is registered. If it is, you can be sure that the medicine you're buying has come from a legal source.
